The Thrift Savings Plan released on Tuesday a notice on changes to participants’ 2022 second quarter statement.
Due to a June 1, 2022 transition of TSP’s recordkeeping services, participants will receive 2022 second quarter account activity in two statements:
- The first statement covers second quarter account activity from April 1 to May 26, 2022. The TSP said it mailed this statement in early July to the address of record in a participant’s TSP account.
- The second statement covers second quarter account activity from May 26 to June 30, 2022. This statement was mailed in late July to the address of record and participants will be able to access a digital version in the “My Account” section of TSP.gov.
Changes to TSP Statement
The TSP outlined the following on the second 2022 second quarter statement:
Year-to-date contributions: This is the sum of TSP payroll contributions from the beginning of 2022 through June 30, 2022.
Second quarter (or quarter-to-date) contributions: This sum includes only TSP payroll contributions from May 26 to June 30, 2022. The first second quarter statement mailed shows the sum of payroll contributions from April 1 to May 26, 2022.
To calculate your total second quarter payroll contributions, the TSP says participants will need to add these amounts from the two statements.
Designated beneficiaries: The TSP said that some participants may see the notice below on their statement:
“Your Beneficiaries (As of 06-30-2022)
You don’t have any Thrift Savings Plan beneficiaries on this site. However, you may have beneficiaries on a previously completed TSP-3 Designation of Beneficiary form. To designate a beneficiary to view on your statement and the website, visit My Account at tsp.gov.”
The TSP explains:
“In this notice, “this site” refers to My Account, which you can access on tsp.gov or through the official TSP Mobile App. Note: For a small number of participants, we did not transfer beneficiary information to our new system because it did not meet certain data quality standards. We encourage all participants to review and confirm beneficiary information. If you don’t submit your beneficiary designation online, we’ll refer to your most recent form TSP-3, if you submitted one previously. Otherwise, we’ll distribute your account according to the order of precedence required by law. “
Information on designating beneficiaries can be found on the TSP website here.
TSP mutual fund window activity: If you enrolled in the TSP mutual fund window, you’ll receive a separate statement that includes your mutual fund window account activity.

The TSP said that unless participants change their delivery preference, all future statement delivery beyond second quarter 2022 will be received electronically in the “My Account” section of TSP.gov. Participants will also receive their annual statements electronically in “My Account” and by mail to the address of record on their account.
