Enrollees in the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program should carefully check the 2023 premium rates of their current plan and any other plan choices they are considering for 2023.
For enrollees wishing to change, they must do so during open season, which is held from Monday, November 14 – Monday, December 12, 2022.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) provided last week a list the 84 FEHB plans for 2023 that have higher premiums for the Self Plus One option than the Self and Family option.
Enrollees who wish to cover one eligible family member may elect either the Self and Family or Self Plus One enrollment type.
The list of the FEHB plans from OPM that have higher premiums for the Self Plus One coverage than the Self and Family option can be downloaded here (Microsoft Excel file).
On average, the federal employees’ and retirees’ share of 2023 FEHB premiums will increase by 8.7% according to OPM.
