Survey Says: 66% of Federal Employees Satisfied With Pay
July 16, 2010
Sixty-six percent of federal employees say they are satisfied with their pay,
according to a survey conducted by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
The 2010 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (formerly the Federal Human
Capital Survey) was taken by more than 250,000 federal employees. The
survey, which is now done annually, "helps us listen to our employees and focus
on employee perceptions that drive job satisfaction, commitment, engagement, and
ultimately contribute to the accomplishment of agency missions," according to
OPM's director, John Berry.
In the job satisfaction part of the survey, when federal employees were
asked, "considering everything, how satisfied are you with your pay?" 66 percent
said they were positive, 18 percent were negative, and 16 percent were
neutral. The positive rating is a six point increase over when the
survey was last taken in 2008.
The full results of the survey can be found on the OPM website
