A quick guide to the 2009 Federal Benefits Open Season is now

available, just in time for the open season's run from November 9

through December 14, 2009. 

The 12-page guide from the Office of Personnel Management provides a helpful summary of the descriptions of the

programs, eligibility rules, enrollment criteria and options, costs, and tax

issues. 

It also includes dozens of helpful phone numbers and website links to

help federal employees quickly access additional information.

The guide covers:

• Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program

• Dental Insurance (FEDVIP)

• Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP)

• BENEFEDS  (an enrollment and premium processing system sponsored by OPM

  that you must use to enroll in FEDVIP)

• Federal Flexible Spending Account Programs (FSAFEDS)

• Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance Program (FEGLI)
