The 2009 Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) contribution limit is $16,500 (an increase of $1,000 from 2008).

Also, the 2009 TSP Catch-Up contribution limit is $5,500 (a $500 increase from 2008).

TSP maximum contribution limits are determined by the IRS and indexed by inflation. They are adjusted annually in $500 increments.
