FERS Creditable Service Rules for Part-Time Work

If a FERS employee performed part-time service prior to April 7, 1986, the employee receives full-time credit for the purposes of both retirement eligiblity and computation of the annuity.

If the part-time service was performed on or after April 7, 1986 the employee receives full credit for retirement eligiblity, but will be prorated for the purposes of computing the annuity.
