CSRS Redeposit Service (Refunded Service)
What is CSRS redeposit service?
A redeposit service (also called "refunded service") is the service in
which you contributed to the CSRS retirement fund, then later separated from
federal service, and received a refund of those contributions.
If you subsequently returned to federal service, you must repay (or
"redeposit" or "refund") that money, plus any applicable interest, before the
period of time covered by the refund can be credited in the computation of your
annuity benefits. Click here to view the interest rates chart.
